General Laboratory Consumables & Chemicals.
II.2) TYPE OF CONTRACT AND PLACE OF DELIVERY OR OF PERFORMANCE: Supplies.

II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: The supply of General Laboratory Consumables & Chemicals. There
will be separate Lots HPLC Solvents, General Laboratory Solvents, General
Laboratory Chemicals, General Laboratory Consumables, General Laboratory
Plasticware, Tissue Culture Plasticware, Laboratory/Medical Gloves,
Laboratory Glassware. The Framework Agreement will be awarded for a period
of 36-48 months. Members of the following higher education purchasing
consortia have agreed in principle to jointly contract for the above: The
Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC), the North Eastern
Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC), the North West Universities
Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC) and the Higher Education Purchasing
Consortium Wales (HEPCW). These four consortia spend in the region of 30
million GBP per annum on the products covered under this framework
agreement. The scope of this new agreement will also cover the other UK
Higher Education regional purchasing consortia as well as all Higher and
Further Education institutions in the UK, should they wish to join the
agreement at a later date (this will be with the prior agreement of the
participating consortia). If other Consortia should participate in this
Framework Agreement expenditure could rise to 40 000 000 GBP per annum.
