The Socialist Republic of Vietnam has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost oftheMekong Delta Transport Infrastructure Development Project (MDTIDP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit topayments under the contracts for Improvements to National Waterway Corridor 2 (Phase 1). The Project Management Unit of Waterways (PMU-W) now invites sealed bidsfrom eligible and qualified bidders forthe dredging and improvement to Class 3 & rebuild local access road (frontage road) of Corridorfrom km 190 to km 217 and km 217to km 253. Total dredging volume is estimated to be about 4.45 million cubic meters and civil works including 26.7 km of rural roadand 27 small bridges. The Works will be divided into two separate contracts NW-3 and NW-4, bid on slice and packagebasis. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the WorldBank's Guidelines: Procurementunder IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (edition May 2004 revisedOctober 1, 2006), and is opento all eligible bidders as definedin theguidelines.
