NOTICE OF INTENT: Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), DesertSouthwest Customer Service Region (DSW) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Siemens Energy, Inc. under the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(1), only one responsible source to provide backup and recovery control logic eproms in support of the Kayenta series capacitor bank station . The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 335999; size standard is 500. The basis for the sole source award to Siemens Energy, Inc. is outlined in the Single Source Justification attached. The proposed contract is for supply/ services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority FAR 13.5. The resulting procurement will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement in response to this requirement, which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions and responses are due not later than September 9, 2009, 3:00PM PST. No solicitation will be posted.
