NSN 1055-01-226-7362 Part Number 9346486. The item to procure is a Safety with Lever. Consists of safety (P/N 9346436) machined from cold drawn, steel, bar, alloy 8640 or 8620, and option of using a precision casting, lever, right safety (P/N 9346431) made from steel, strip, carbon 1030, cold rolled, close tolerance parts. Heat treat and a manganese phosphate class 3, finish is required. FOB is Destination. The proposed contract will be a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 1,000 each and a maximum contract quantity of 75,000 each. For use on the 9mm caliber pistol. Estimated issue date is 10 Sept 2009. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102; therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Proposed contract is 100% small business set-aside. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capacity to satisfy the Governments requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.

CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
