Description

The Commonwealth has a requirement for the supply of natural gas to the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap (JDFPG).  The natural gas supply will fuel generators that provide power requirements at the site. A reliable supply of natural gas will be important to the operation of the JDFPG.

In meeting these requirements, the Commonwealth expects that the successful contractor will need to build, own and operate a number of assets, such as approximately eight kiometres of gas pipeline and a let-down skid, to support the supply of natural gas to JDFPG. In line with the requirements of this RFT. however, the Commonwealth will seek to have unrestricted access to these assets during the contract term, and, require the right to purchase the assets, or to arrange purchase of the assets by a third party, at the expiration of the contract term.

It is anticipated that the assets will need to be built on both Crown land and Commonwealth/Defence land. The successful contractor will be responsible for all legislative, regulatory, and licensing approval requirements and costs, including ILUA if applicable, to allow construction and operation of the assets supporting the natural gas supply arrangements to JDFPG.

Other InstructionsThe contract for supply of natural gas to JDFPG is expected to be for a period of between 10 and 15 years.
Conditions for ParticipationThere are no conditions for participation, but respondents will be expected to be responsible for all legislative, regulatory, and licensing approval requirements, including ILUA if applicable, to allow construction and operation of the assets supporting the natural gas supply arrangements to JDFPG.
