SECTION II.B: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT (SUPPLIES OR SERVICES)
II.1) TITLE ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONTRACT BY THE CONTRACTING AUTHORITY:
Maintenance of C3i Videowalls, DVRS and Audio Visual Equipment.
II.2) TYPE OF CONTRACT AND PLACE OF DELIVERY OR OF PERFORMANCE: Services.

II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: The MPS is looking to award a contract for the maintenance and
support of the following existing systems and equipment for a minimum
period of 3 years:
Digital video recording system and its associated infrastructure.
Video wall equipment and its associated infrastructure.
Audio visual equipment This will include the option for upgrades to the
systems during the contract period and any additional ad-hoc support.
Digital video recording system (DVRS) The DVRS operates 24x7x365 with
continuous recording of nearly 800 channels of composite video from a
variety of sources. It is an enterprise scale IP solution distributed
across several sites with a storage capacity of over 200 Terabytes.
It’s core components include:
Video encoders & decoders.
IP video management software from Verint systems.
Fibre channel storage from Qlogic.
Storage sub-systems from Nexsan.
Servers and workstations from IBM.
IP networking from Cisco.
Robot DVD burners from Rimage Video wall equipment (VWE).
The VWE comprises of seventeen separate video walls and their associated
infrastructure, which between them are capable of displaying 516 images at
any one time. It operates 24x7x365, controlled through an integrated
communications and control system.
It’s core components include:
DLP display cubes from Mitsubishi.
Image processors from Electrosonic.
LCD video walls from Elport.
KVM systems from Avocent.
UDP signal extension technology from NVT & Mauve.
Servers from IBM.
IP Networking from Cisco Audio & video equipment (AVE) The AVE comprises
of bespoke solutions including conference and briefing rooms.
Core components include:
Video conferencing systems from Tandberg and Polycom.
Plasma displays and DVD players/recorders.
Smartboards.
Control systems from AMX.
Audio processors from ClearOne, Sabone and Vortex.
Microphones from AKG, Tandberg and Audio Technica.
Speakers from JBL speakers.
Switchers from Kramer and Quartz.
Australian Monitor amplifiers.
Barco projectors.
Bradley Cameras.
Polytron DVB-T head end receivers As the systems are located in secure
environments, all contractors will need to be vetted and cleared to CTC
(Counter Terrorist Check) level.
Estimated cost excluding VAT: 6 000 000 GBP.
