ICB No: 06943/2009/SVS/VIGISUS #II 1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project thatappeared in Development Business, issue nº. 742 of 16 January 2009. 2. The Federative Republic of Brazil, through the Ministry of Health, has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development # IBRD toward the cost of Second DiseaseSurveillance and Control Project #VIGISUS II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loanto payments under thecontract for acquisition of Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry System (01); Induced Plasma Spectrometer With Mass Detector (01); Mass Spectrometry System (LC/MS/MS) To BeCoupled To High Performance Liquid Chromatographer (HPLC) (01), and Trinocular Biological Microscope(01). 3. The UnitedNations Development Programme # UNDP , on behalf of Secretariat of Health and Surveillance - SVS, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders to supplyAtomic Absorption Spectrophotometry System (01); Induced Plasma Spectrometer With Mass Detector (01); Mass SpectrometrySystem (LC/MS/MS) To Be Coupled To High Performance Liquid Chromatographer (HPLC) (01), and Trinocular Biological Microscope(01). 4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.5 5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the biddingdocument at the United Nations Development Programme # UNDP site according to address stated at end ofthis Invitation. 6. Qualifications requirements include a list oftechnical, financial, legal and other requirement as specified in the Bidding Documents. A margin of preference for certaingoods manufactured domestically shall be applied. Additional details are providedin the Bidding Documents. 7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English or Portuguese may be obtained, free ofpayment, by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address stated at end of thisInvitation. 8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before September 22nd, 2009, 15hs. Electronic bidding will be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attendin person or on-line at the address below at September 22nd, 2009, 15hs.
