NAME OF PROJECT: Pension Administration and Safety Net Project
GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
Project ID No: P113421


The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan intends to apply for financing from the International Development Association (World Bank) in the amount of US$7.5 Million toward the cost of the Pension Administration and Safety Net Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, related services, consulting services and minor works to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:

1. Component 1: Pensions. Subcomponents: (i) strengthening the public pension administration; and (ii) reform of the legacy provisions.

2. Component 2: Safety Nets. Subcomponents: (i) piloting a basic safety net scheme; and (ii) related institution building.

3. Component 3: Project Management: Strengthening capacity for Program Management.

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits May 2004 and revised October 2006. Consulting Services financed by the World Bank will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers May 2004 and revised October 2006.

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and DgMarket and local newspaper and magazines.

Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive invitations to pre -qualify/bid under ICB procedures, and interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of advertisement requesting expressions of interest for consultancy contracts, or those requiring additional information, should contact the address below.
