The Governmentof the Republic of Yemen has applied for credit from the International Development Association in the amount of USD 130,000,000equivalent toward the cost of the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this credit topayments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. Bidding for contractsfinanced by the International Development Association will be governed by the procurementrules of the World Bank. The UrbanWater Supply and Sanitation Project aims at improving the water distribution system and thesanitation services. The projectwill include the following goods, works and services: -Water distribution(Collected and purified water and water distribution), -Sanitation services(Sanitation and related services), -Water supply networkrehabilitation (Collected and purified water and water distribution) - Sewerage systemsrehabilitation (Sewerage works) -Engineering consultingservices (Engineering services) -Studies (Engineeringstudies) -Training (Trainingservices) -Technical assistance(Technical assistance services) -Wastewater treatmentplants (Wastewater treatment plant) Procurement of contracts financed by the credit will be conducted through theprocedures specified in Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits[1] of the World Bank,and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.Consulting services will be selected in accordance with Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[2] of the World Bank. Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures will beannounced, as they become available, in the Development Gateway Market.
