This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only Tandberg under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, since they are the only source able to provide both specialized support for NAVFAC Tandberg-installed equipment and are able to do so with both remote and on-site support and maintenance capabilities. The work includes, but is not limited to, providing one year of maintenance on NAVFAC Tandberg video teleconferencing equipment, including technical service management and remote/onsite service procedures. The contract term will be a base period of one year. Only the base period of the contract will offer a minimum guarantee. If the Government does not award a follow-on contract in time, the Government may require the Contractor to continue performance for an additional period up to six months under the Option to Extend Services clause. This is a new procurement. It does not replace an existing contract. No information exists on prior contracts. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, inquiries received within 45 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
