The Government of Croatia has received a loan from the International
Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of USD
29,000,000 equivalent toward the cost of the Health System Project,
and it intends to apply the proceeds of this loan to payments under
the contract for Supply of Medical Equipment for Koprivnica General
Hospital Tomislav Bardek. Bidding for contracts financed by the
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be governed
by the procurement rules specified in the World Bank Procurement under
IBRD Loans and IDA Credits[1]. It is open to all bidders from eligible
source countries as defined in the guidelines.

There are four main components of the Health System Project, which
aims to enhance Croatia's capacity to achieve a more effective,
efficient, and financially sustainable health system. The first
component funds health services delivery. The second component
provides public health monitoring and program evaluation; and supports
national health promotion. The third component funds disposal of
pharmaceutical waste. The fourth component strengthens systems in ways
that support the first three components, and that also provide
essential building blocks for regulatory, governance, and management
initiatives. Initiatives include a management information system; and
developing clinical protocols, facilities standards and guidelines for
care, as well as a department to coordinate these activities.

The Ministry of Health. Health System Project. now invites sealed bids
from eligible bidders for the following lots:

- lot 3 MEDICAL INVESTIGATIONS & THERAPEUTICS:

- Volumetric infusion pump (Infusion pumps) - 51
- ECG Machine (Electrocardiogram) - 5

- lot 4 EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT:

- Cardiac Arrest Trolley with Defibrillator- Monitor (Medical
devices) - 6
- Cardiac Arrest Trolley (Trolleys) - 7
- Patient Trolley (Trolleys) - 17

- lot 5 PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING SYSTEMS:

- Intensive Care Monitoring System (Monitors)
- Central Unit - 1
- Monitors - 12
- Coronary Monitoring System (Monitors)
- Central Unit - 1
- Monitors - 6
- Emergency Services Department Monitoring System (Central
monitoring station)
- Central Unit - 1
- Monitors - 6

Bidders are invited to bid for one or more lots. Bid evaluation will
be carried out by lots.

Bidding is allowed for whole lots only.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and
inspect the bidding documents at the Ministry of Health. Health System
Project. at the address below from 09:00 to 12:00. A complete set of
bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on
the submission of a written application to the address below and upon
payment of a nonrefundable fee of HRK 800. or USD 100. The method of
payment will be: direct payment to specified account no.
239001-1500001797 for payments in HRK or account no. 7020-840-4489 in
the Raiffeisen Bank Austria d.d. Zagreb (Swift code: RZBHHR2X) for
payments in USD. The document will be sent by airmail for foreign
delivery and surface mail for local delivery.

Bids must be delivered to the address below by 14:00 on 6 June 2003.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security equivalent to HRK 35.
for lot 3, HRK35.000,00 for lot 4, HRK75.000,00 for lot 5. Late bids
will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders'
representatives who choose to attend at the address below on 6 June
2003 at 14:15.
