REQUEST FOREXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTANTSERVICES) REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ( IDA Grant No. H191-SL, IDA Grant No.H405-SL, IDA Credit No. CR4469-SL) SUPERVISION OF CIVIL WORKS AND EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION CONTRACTS AT THE PORT OF FREETOWN This request for Expression of Interest follows the GeneralProcurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business on Monday June 27, 2005. The Government of Sierra Leone has received a grant andcredit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of theInfrastructure Development Project (IDP) andintends to apply part ofthe proceeds of this grant for the payment under the contract for thesupervision of civil works andservices related to the procurement ofgoods for the Sierra Leone Ports Authority. Specifically, the scopeof the assignment shall include, but not be limited to construction supervision of the following civil works and equipmentinstallation contracts: Contract A: Paving Works (usingconcrete paver blocks) Contract B: Ancillary Land Works (including installationof bollards, fenders, ladders, and demolition and reconstruction of quay reinforced concrete deck slabs) Contract C: Dredging Contract D: Provision andinstallation of Navigational Aids Contract E: Provision andinstallation of Environmental Management Equipment (including oil-spill recovery systems and abilge water treatment facility) Consultants shall also provide assistance to the client inBid evaluation and recommendation of contract award for the procurement of aboveworks and equipment supply and installationcontracts. This assignment, whichis expected to commence in the first quarter of 2010, will cover the supervision of the above civil works construction and/orinstallation of equipment, which are all not expected to start simultaneously but are projected to be fully completed withineighteen 18 calendar months. The Sierra Leone Ports Authority (SLPA) now invites eligibleconsultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested Consultants must provide information indicating thatthey are qualifiedto perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions,availability of appropriate skills among staff etc). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. A consultant will beselected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment ofConsultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).
