This project consists of two trail decommissioning items and two optional award items. Item 1: Deer Creek Trail Decommissioning is located in the Elk River Municipal Watershed. Apppoximately 210 acres of watershed improvement. Project consists of approximately 1 mile trail decommission with 3 stream crossings. Work includes trail decommissioning consisting of ground scarification and placement of traffic barriers (rock boulders), re-vegetation consisting of broadcast mix seed and planting shrubs, stream bank stabilitzation consisting of placing large woody debris to stream and anchoring along stream banks, erostion control consisting of waterbars as needed. Item 2: Steam Donkey is located in the East Fork Big Bear Creek. Approximately 18 acres of watershed improvement. Project consists of 1/2 mile to trail decommissioning, erosion control consisting of installation of approximately 52 large log check dam, naturalization consisting of reshaping cutbank and back slope. Most to all of this project would require heavy work and can be accomplished with the use of a mini excavator. Broadcast see can be accomplished by hand. Optional Item 3: Steam Donkey Add-on's is located in the East Big Bear Creek. Project consists of .75 mile of trail decommissioning. Log and metal culverts need to be removed. There are 4 seeps to stabilize. Optional Item 4: Cowboy Trail is located in the East Fork Big Bear Creek. Project consists of 1.5 miles of trail decommissioning. Decommissioning features waterbars, ground scarification and broadcast seed mix. Work can be accomplished with use of small hand crew
