II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTRACT OR PURCHASE(S): On 18.5.2005, the
Government announced the construction of a new passenger terminal at
Dublin Airport ("Terminal Two" or "T2"). In sanctioning Terminal Two, the
Government mandated that there would be "an open tender competition to
select the operator of Terminal Two" and that the competition (the
"Competition") would be "organised by an independent expert panel". A
consortium comprising Goodbody Corporate Finance, Matheson Ormsby Prentice
and Mott MacDonald (the "Consortium") was subsequently appointed to run
the Competition.
On 2.2.2009, the Minister for Transport, Mr. Noel Dempsey, announced his
approval for the holding of a tender process relating to the management of
facilities at Terminal Two.
There will now be a market consultation with a view to developing the
specification for the facilities management contract at T2. This
consultation may take the form of an Open Day or separate briefings with
interested parties and all rights to vary the format are reserved. It is
anticipated that the scope of services to be included in the facilities
management contract may broadly comprise cleaning, maintenance,
operational support and security screening.
