II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Waveney
District Council (the Council) is moving towards becoming an Enabling
Council and wishes to provide the residents of Waveney high quality
services, whilst optimising value for money. The Council is therefore
seeking to engage a partner or partners for the comprehensive management
of its Assets and property related services. The partner or partners will
be required to provide shared objectives, continuous service improvements
and efficiencies, maximise use and performance of assets/property and
demonstrate an innovative approach in meeting agreed targets.
The Council owns a mixed portfolio of industrial, commercial and retail
properties, in addition to corporate properties and land, and
property/assets that provide front line services to the local community.
The Council has an asset portfolio in excess of 30 000 000 GBP and the
direct cost of providing the service is around 190 000 GBP (837 000 GBP
expenditure, made up of staff costs, premises, supplies and services and
647 000 GBP income, made up of rents and other income).
For the purpose of clarity 'asset' is a general term that encompasses
buildings, property and land.
