The Office of Transportation Services (TRANServe), within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration for U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will be soliciting Request for Proposals for the following services: Issuance of fare media using commercially available, printed paper vouchers designed in a manner consistent with TRANServe program specifications. The vouchers will: � Limit purchases to transit authorities, vendors, and select transportation providers � Be fully negotiable instruments bank instruments � Include a Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) line � Be sequentially numbered � Be accepted in multiple metropolitan areas � The Contractor must have the capability to monitor transaction history and identify trends, patterns and other indications of potential fraud waste and abuse � The Contractor�s reporting system must have the capabilities necessary to provide routine and ad hoc reporting A performance and payment bond may be required to ensure that the work is performed in accordance with the terms of the contract. The solicitation will available on or about August 7, 20099 with an anticipated bid opening date of approximately August 10, 2009. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities website http//www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. All future information about this solicitation, including any amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The estimated contract period of performance is for 12 months with 2 one-year options. Awards may be made by region.
