THIS INVITATION FOR BID IS SET-ASIDE FOR 8(a) SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS ONLY. ANY OFFERS RECEIVED FROM OTHER THAN 8(a) SMALL BUSINESSES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PROJECT DETAILS: This work consists of grading, drainage and asphalt surfacing of a 6.242-mile segment of Ubehebe Crater Road in Death Valley National Park, Inyo County, California. This segment is the roadway leading to Ubehebe Crater scenic overlook and providing access to other areas within Death Valley National Park. This roadway begins at the intersection with Bonnie Claire Road and proceeds in a northeast direction, past Big Pine access (M.P. 2.8) point, across Death Valley Wash (M.P. 3.1), then to the one-way loop (M.P. 5.5) leading to the parking facility at Ubehebe Crater. Access to the Racetrack Valley is obtained through the Ubehebe Crater parking area. The estimated cost of this project is between $3 and $5 million. Tentative advertisement date: July 31, 2009.
