Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment supervision necessary to complete Project 521-08-105, Renovate Coronary Care Unit at VA Medical Center, 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama 35233, in accordance with plans and specifications. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing flooring, doors, interior windows and installation of new ICU doors, wall repairs and new architectural finishes, installing patient bed lifts, replacing patient units, and replacing patient head wall units. Work includes general construction, alterations, architectural finishes, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items identified within the contract documents and as indicated on the construction drawings. The estimated dollar value of construction is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Estimated solicitation issue date is on or about August 24, 2009, with an estimated bid opening date of October 1, 2009. Note these dates are estimates and could be sooner or later. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220 for this procurement with a size standard of $33.5 million. This solicitation is set aside for service disabled veteran-owned small businesses. There will be a pre-bid walk through of the project and it is highly recommended that any contractor wishing to bid on this project attend the walk through. The pre-bid walk through time and location will be addressed in the solicitation. All solicitation packages, including drawings will be available to download from the website www.fedbizopps.gov . No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided.
