Scope of work PACKAGE 1 - DEVELOPMENT OF AL RUWAIS PORT (PH 2)
1. Site Location and Description
Al Ruwais Port is located approximately 120km north of Doha. The project comprises the development of the existing fishing port at Al Ruwais, with new facilities, to accommodate dhows, coastal trading vessels and passenger/car ferry traffic largely importing general cargo including fruit and vegetables, livestock and building materials.
The port is currently used by over 100 fishing vessels both resident and transitory, Customs and Ports General Authority (CPGA), Ministry of Interior – Coastguard (MOI) and small leisure craft. The port shall remain fully operational for the duration of the Contract.
2. Scope of Works
Dredging and Reclamation: The channel approximately 3km in length shall be dredged to -5.0m CD. The port basin shall be dredged to -7.0m CD, The MOI impoundment basin shall be dredged to -5.0m CD. The fishing harbour and marina shall be dredged to -2.5m CD. The approximate quantity of dredged material is 2.8million cubic metres. Dredged material shall be placed in accordance with the specification within the reclamation area. SCENR have specified a maximum overflow sediment load of 100mg/L. Excess material shall be removed and disposed of off-site to the areas shown on the drawings.
Port Works: The port works include construction of concrete block work quay walls, fenders, navigation aids, rock revetments, utilities and port furniture, floating pontoons, slipways, fuel storage tank and dispensers, and block paving.
Roads: Construction of bitmac roads, interlocking paving block, parking areas and associated kerbs, walkways, traffic calming measures, traffic signs and markings up to the limits shown on the drawings.
Sewerage: construction of a vitrified clay gravity system discharging to a new sewage pumping station, including construction of the 150 mm property connections, inspection chambers and connection of the drainage pipes from the individual buildings to the inspection chambers.
Water: Construction of a 200 mm to 25 mm diameter ductile iron water reticulation network from the site boundaries, including the isolation valves and valve boxes for each building, a buried concrete reservoir, irrigation chambers and the supply, installation and commissioning of potable water and fire fighting water supply pumps, building services (MEP) and associated equipment.
Surface water drainage: construction of a 300 mm diameter vitrified clay pipe drainage network and associated collection gullies and soakaways.
Landscaping Irrigation: Supply, install, commission and maintain a complete automated irrigation system for plants, trees, grass etc including all valves, control equipment, valve chambers and pipework.

1. Site Location and Description
The proposed miscellaneous Buildings for Fisheries Department is to be located at the existing site of Fishing Harbour in Al Ruwais Port, State of Qatar.
The proposed buildings are the following:

2. Fishing net fabrication and maintenance area
3. Administration Building
4. Warehouse type 1A
5. Warehouse type 1B
6. Warehouse type 2
7. Rest area & Cafeteria
8. Mosque
