Country: Brazil Project: ADDITIONAL FINANCING FOR SAO PAULO TRAINS AND SIGNALING (MODERNIZATION PROGRAM CPTM´S LINE 11 #CORAL) Financing: World Bank Abstract: GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Sector: Railways Loan/Credit Number: N.A. The State of São Paulo, represented by Secretaria dos Transportes Metropolitanos # STM and Companhia Paulistade Trens Metropolitanos # CPTM, intends to negotiate a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD),in the amount of US$ 112.91 million, for the cost of Modernization Program CPTM´s Line 11 # Coral, and it intends to apply part ofthe proceeds of this loan to payments for goods, works, related services and Consulting services to be procured underthisproject. The project will include the following components: (a) an Infrastructure and Equipment component to help acquire nine (09) trains (Electrical Multiple Units # EMUs)of eight cars each. This component accounts for about 97.4 per cent of the total project cost; (b) a Consulting Services component to help hiring (i) SupervisionServices of the Manufacturing and Assembling of Trains; (ii) Consulting Companiesfor Project Management (iii) Auditors for the program. This component represents about 2.6 per cent of the total projectcost. Procurement of contracts financed by the loan will be conduced through the procedures specified in thecurrent edition of the Word Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders fromeligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines. Consulting Services will be selected in accordance with the current edition of the World Bank's Guidelines:Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers. Specific procurement notices for contracts to be procured under the World Bank's International CompetitiveBidding (ICB) procedures and forthe selection of firms for large#value consultants' contracts will beannounced, as they becomeavailable, in UN Development Business and São Paulo State Official Gazette ("Diário Oficial do Estado de São Paulo").
