Under the authority of FAR 13.5, the U.S. Army, REDCOM, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Honeywell International, Inc., 7870 Villa Park Dr Ste 900, Richmond, VA 23228-6508 for Custom Spectra Shield ballistic composite products. This is for the purchase of 490lbs of Spectra Shield Composite materials; 40lbs Spectra Shield 3130-type, 18in wide pilot-scale cross plied Unidirectional material, Fiber areal density 78 gsm Resin Content 16-18 percent; 200lbs Spectra Shield 3130-type 18in wide pilot-scale cross plied Unidirectional material, Fiber areal density 30 gsm, Resin Content 16-18 percent size: 18in roll; 200lbs Spectra Shield 3130-type 18in wide pilot-scale cross plied Unidirectional material, Fiber areal density 30 gsm, Resin Content 12 percent size: 18in roll; 50lbs Spectra Shield 3130-type 18in wide pilot-scale cross plied Unidirectional material, Fiber areal density 54 gsm, Resin Content 16-18 percent size: 18in roll. These items are being purchased for the Natick Soldier System Centers WARSTAR organization as requested for advanced helmet production.
