II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: The contracting authorities are seeking an innovative private
sector partner (or partners) to deliver Council services, to achieve
efficiencies and improve the delivery of front line customer services. The
services which may be included in the partnership initially include ICT
support, Revenues and Benefits and Facilities Management. The partnership
may include:
Catering services.
Repair and maintenance services of building installations.
Canteen and catering services.
Information systems and servers.
Business and management consultancy and related services.
Facilities management services for computer systems maintenance.
Provision of services to the community.
Facilities management services.
Collection agency services.
Hardware consultancy services.
Data services.
Software programming and consultancy services.
Computer-related services.

Miscellaneous business and business-related services.

Accommodation and office services.
Cleaning and sanitation services.

II.7) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Council needs to develop a long-term
sustainable strategy based on whole Council initiatives that proactively
respond to the increasingly uncertain financial climate. In doing so, it
is seeking a strategic approach to maintain efficiency as a priority,
limit future increases in Council tax, address the need to support front
line services as customer expectations grow, and generally meet the
Council's priority of being an 'Efficient Council'.
Working with a partner to deliver some Council services would bring a host
of benefits to the Council and the town. Innovative skills, knowledge of
best performing Councils, innovative approach and capacity to deliver in a
timely manner would impact on the Council's way of working. A successful
private organisation could give the Council and the town a much needed
economic boost and may encourage similar investors to see Bournemouth as a
suitable location for business.
