MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS OF THE INSTRUMENT:
1. Instrument must use a twenty position, ceramic carousel that is not susceptible to warping
at temperature up to 1000 deg C.
2. Instrument must be capable of performing up to nineteen samples during one time analysis,
and up to (38) using a dual-furnace configuration.
3. Instrument must use ceramic crucibles capable of holding macro samples sizes (50mg to 5 g).
4. Instrument must use an integrated four-place balance that is shielded and protected from any
interference from other internal components.
5. Instrument must provide balance readability to 0.0001 g.
6. Instrument must perform a standard weight-loss for an inert sample with a precision of less
than or equal to 0.02 % std deviation. This test should be performed at various temperatures,
flow rates and atmospheres.
7. Instrument must provide a temperature range from ambient to 1000 deg C.
8. Instrument must provide temperature resolution of +/-2 deg C from 100 to 1000 deg C.
9. Instrument must provide temperature readings at the location of the crucible.
10. Instrument must provide a dedicated over-temp protection thermocouple for safety protection.
11. Instrument must provide variable temperature ramp rate capabilities up to 50 deg C per minute.
12. Instrument must provide service accessibility from the front of the instrument.
13. Instrument must have a loading height of less than 14" from the bottom of instrument.
14. Instrument must use a pneumatic carousel mechanism for accurate crucible placement.
15. Instrument must use a Windows-based operating software that supports compliance to 21 CFR
Part 11 regulations, contains an on-board help manual and controls up to two separate furnace units.
16. Instrument vendor must provide remote service diagnostics with a separate software package
that is designed specifically to connect the user with the instrument vendor's service personnel.
17. Vendor must have a factory trained service engineer with a factory training certificate for the
support of the equipment.
18. Vendor's minimum warranty: One year on parts and service.
19. Vendor must include in the package training for one (1) operator at the factory.
