This General Procurement Notice (GPN) is an update of the notice first
published on 18 April 2008.
The Kutaisi Water Company intends using the proceeds of a loan from the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the "Bank") for a
project to improve water delivery services in the City of Kutaisi.
The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EURO 12.9
million, will require the procurement of works for the following
components:
- Rehabilitation of reservoirs
- Rehabilitation of the water supply network
- Install meters for households
During the past year mechanical and electrical equipment for wellfields
and water meters have been procured using proceeds of the loan and grant
funds. The remaining works are envisaged to be procured in 2009.
Millennium Challenge Georgia and the Swedish International Development
Co-operation Agency provide parallel capital investment grants for the
project.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be
subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to
firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used
for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import
of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the
United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of
the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the
Purchaser's country.
