SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF 4WD DOUBLE CABIN PICK - UPS

IFB № MAFFS/MOTI/RPSDP/ICB/03/06/2009

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, dated June 04, 2004.

2. The Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone has received a grant from the International Development Association toward the cost of Rural and Private Sector Development Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract for IFB № MAFFS/MOTI/RPSDP/ICB/03/06/2009. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank’s eligibility rules and procedures.

3. The Project Coordination Unit acting on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security; and Ministry of Trade and Industry now invite sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and delivery of ten (10) units 4WD Double Cabin Pick – ups minimum 2500cc diesel engine:

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May 2004, Revised October 2006) and are open to all bidders from eligible countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Procurement Unit 1st Floor Room 105 Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security Youyi Building Brookfields Freetown Sierra Leone and inspect the bidding documents at the address given in paragraph 7 below from 9.00 am to 5.00 p.m local time

6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to address 1 below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of One Hundred United States Dollars (US$100.00) for foreign companies or Three Hundred Thousand Sierra Leonean Leones (Le 300,000.00) for suppliers within Sierra Leone. The method of payment will be by cash, cashier’s cheque, or Bank Draft to Rural and Private Sector Development Project. Suppliers whose cheques are found to be duds shall have their bids rejected. The document may be collected by hand at address (1) below or will be sent by courier at an additional cost of USD200.00 for overseas deliveries.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12.00 p.m local time on Thursday August 13, 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security amount of USD10, 500.00 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the Main Conference Room at the Location indicated below at 12.00 p.m local time on Thursday August 13, 2009.
