This SPN has beenre-advertised to extend the bid closing from July 24, 2009 to August 7, 2009 based on a request from several contractors whopurchased the bidding documents. All bidders who purchased the bidding documents have already been informed about theextension.

Infrastructure Development Project

Upgrading of Freetown International Airport Infrastructure

GRANT/CREDIT:H191-SL, H405-SL & CR4469-SL

 

This invitation follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appearedin Development Business on Monday June 27, 2005.

The Government of Sierra Leone has received a grant/credit from the InternationalDevelopment Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Infrastructure Development Project (IDP) and intends to apply part oftheproceeds of this grant/credit for the payment under the contract for the upgrading of Freetown International Lungi Airport(Lungi) infrastructure.

The works will entail the following two (2) Lots:

Lot 1

  1. Works

    • Runway Rehabilitation Works

    • Widening of Turning Loops & Taxiway accesses

    • Relocation of aircraft holding positions

    • Provision of illuminated wind sock

    Lot 2

     

    1. Water Supply System

    • Upgrade of Airport water supply system

    1. Power supply system

    • Provision of electricity power supply system

    Bidders may bid for any one or more lots individually. Bids for each lot, will however,be evaluated separately and discounts offered for the award of multiple lots will be taken into consideration.

    The Sierra Leone Airports Authority (SLAA) now invites sealed bids from eligiblebidders for the civil works for the upgrading of Lungi Airport Infrastructure. The delivery/construction periods for lots 1 and 2are 9 months and 18 months respectively.

    Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding proceduresspecified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 (revised October 2006), andis open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

    Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from SLAA and inspect thebidding documents at the address given below between the hours of 10:00AM and 15:00PM every weekday.

    A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidderson the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable US$250.00 or its equivalent inLeones or other convertible currencies. The method of paymentwill be cash or Banker's cheque. The document will be sent bycourierservice.

    Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12:00noon Friday August 7,2009. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security ofa minimum amount of USD132,000 and USD38,000 for Lots 1 and 2 respectivelyor equivalent amount in Leones (SLL). Bids will be opened in thepresence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend atthe address below at 12:00 noon Friday August 7, 2009. Late bids will be rejected.
