The National Park Service (NPS) will issue a prospectus soliciting proposals for a ten year contract for marina services within National Capital Parks-East on May 26, 2009. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51 has determined that the existing concessioner, Guest Services, Inc., is not a preferred offeror for this contract. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Business Services Program Manager, NPS, National Capital Region Office of Business Services Room 236 1100 Ohio Drive, S.W. Washington, DC 20242 no later than one hundred twenty two days (122) after the release of the prospectus in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract to provide these services within National Capital Parks-East. The prospectus will be issued on May 26, 2009, for a 122-day response period under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due at the National Capital Region Office of Business Services Room 236 1100 Ohio Drive, S.W. Washington, DC 20242 by September 25, 2009 no later than 4:00 p.m. The prospectus and a synopsis of the business opportunity will be available on the National Park Service Concessions website at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/Prospectus.cfm. Hardcopies are available upon request for a printing cost recovery charge. The fee is $30 per copy if picked up from the National Capital Regional Office in person and $35 per copy if mailed. To request a copy, provide a check or money order made payable to the National Park Service (Cash remittance is not accepted). A Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number (SSN) is required on all checks and money orders. For mail requests include a street address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express delivery. Washington, DC 20242, of your interest so your contact information can be placed on a mailing list to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the prospectus. Those receiving a hard copy or who have been placed on the mailing list will be provided with any additional information specific to the prospectus in writing. The same information will also be posted to the above mentioned website. A site tour or access within the concession operation is scheduled for June 29, 2009 at 1:00 PM. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the government.
