Garnet Creek Trail #43 Restoration and Reconstruction - Work consists of 3 miles of trail restoration and .2 miles of trail construction on Garnet Creek Tr. 43. Some items that may be required include overall trail restoration, installation of rock waterbars, wood culvert(s), switchback restoration, switchback repair/installation, ditch work, working with granite, explosive work, brush clearing and grubbing, embankment excavation work, dam work, trail obliteration, and all other work needed to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. The project is located on the Powell Ranger District. To access this project turn on Elk Summit Rd. #111 at M.P. 163.4 on Highway 12. Stay on the Rd. #111 to Colt Killed Creek Rd. #359 (old White Sand Creek). Turn left on Rd. #359 and go to the end of the road to the Trailhead. Take Colt Killed Creek Tr. #50 to the Junction with Garnet Creek Tr. #43. The project begins at the trailhead (T36N, R16E, Sec. 25). The project ends at Bear Creek Pass on the Montana border (T36N, R16E, Sec. 30). All work on this project must be completed by September 29, 2010. A pre-bid meeting is planned for this project and the specifics of this meeting will be included in the solicitation. Price estimate for the project is between $25,000 - $100,000.
