INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB)

This Invitation for Bids follows theGeneral ProcurementNotice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business, issue No. 727of May 31, 2008.

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam hasreceived a Credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of the Rural Distribution Project(RD), and it intends to apply part of theproceeds of this Credit to eligible payments under the contracts for supply of materials and equipment for Improvement of 22/35 kV system of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien # Hue, Quang Ngai, BinhDinh, Phu Yen provinces for which this invitation for bids isissued.

POWER COMPANY No.3 (PC3) of VIETNAMELECTRICITY now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for supply of materials and equipment of the followingpackages for Improvement of 22/35 kV system of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien # Hue, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen provinces:

1.      Package No. PC3-MV-6P-G01: Supply of MVconductors.

2.      Package No. PC3-MV-6P-G02: Supply of MVinsulators and accessories.

3.      Package No. PC3-MV-6P-G03: Supply ofdistribution transformers.

4.      Package No.PC3-MV-6P-G04: Supply ofswitching equipment.

5.      Package No. PC3-MV-6P-G05: Supply of LVdistribution boards.

 Bidding will be conductedthrough the International competitivebidding procedures specified inthe World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to allbidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders mayobtain further information from POWER COMPANY No.3and inspect the bidding documents atthe address given below from 18^th  June2009 during working time. 

A complete set of bidding document inEnglish may be purchased from 18^thJune 2009 byinterested bidders upon submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee asfollows: Package PC3-MV-6P-G01: USD 200 or VND 3,400,000; Package PC3-MV-6P-G02 : USD 100 or VND 1,700,000;Package PC3-MV-6P-G03: 200 USD or VND 3,400,000; Package PC3-MV-6P-G04: 100 USDor VND 1,700,000; Package PC3-MV-6P-G05: 100 USD or VND 1,700,000.

The document may be sent by courier,if required, upon payment of the said amount for the bidding document plus express courier fee of USD 100 abroad or VND 150,000 locally to the accounts of PC3 at  the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam - Danang Branch (Address: 140Le Loi Str., Danang, Vietnam); Account No. 0041370012061 for USD and 0041.000.000.800 for VND.

Bids must be delivered to the addressbelow at or before8h30 (Local time), 04^th August 2009. Bids will be opened in thepresence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at  8h45 (Local time), 04^th August2009.
