Georgia has applied for a credit from the World Bank towards the cost of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi Road Improvement Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works and related services to be procured under this project which will be jointly financed by Government of Georgia.

The project will include the following components:

-Improvement of km0+000 – km 27+000 of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road section

-Improvement of km27+000– km 66+000 of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road section

-Supervision of works for improvement of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road section (km0+000-km27+000, km 27+000-km 66+000)

-Institutional strengthening of the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

Procurement of goods and works contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA credits (May 2004, Revised October 2006) and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition, Revised October 2006).

Specific procurement notices (SPN) for contracts to bid under World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and DG Market and if appropriate, in the relevant technical magazines, newspapers or trade publications of wide international circulation, and in local Georgian newspaper 24 Saati.

Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included in the mailing list to receive invitations to pre-qualify or bid under ICB procedures as well as interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of advertisement requesting expressions of interest for consultancy contracts or those requiring additional information should contact the address below.
