Subject: Request for expressions of interest from development consultancy companies

The Government of Mozambique is currently carrying out an evaluation of its second Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper, the PARPA II. As part of the evaluation a number of consultancy companies will be contracted to undertake studies on topics of strategic importance. These studies will be related to a broad range of areas including:

Poverty reduction; agriculture; the private sector; tax; nutrition; decentralization; gender; and access to justice.

The studies will be conducted between July and September of 2009. A competitive bidding process will select the consultancy companies. Terms of reference for individual studies will be advertised in national media and on www.mpd.gov.mz in the third week of May.
