GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
IDA CREDITNO. 4454 - TA
The Government of United Republic of Tanzania has received financing in the amount of US$ 100M million equivalent from the International Development Association towards the cost of the Science and Technology Higher Education Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.
The project will include the following components:
Goods, works and services to be procured would include the following:

• Construction and improvement of Laboratories and Teacher Professional centre including facilities and equipment,
information and communication technologies, to provide better quality education.
• Procurement of goods like ICT equipment, Motor Vehicles, Furniture, Chemicals, Text books, electrical, biomedical and biogas equipment and tools.
• Consulting services like design and supervision of construction of buildings, development of document management system, establishment of flexible funding facility (FFF) etc.


The procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, Revised October, 2006, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, Revised October 2006..
Specific Procurement Notices (SPNs) for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and/or dg market ,technical magazines, newspapers and trade publications of wide international circulation and in local newspapers. The SPNs will be announced by the Implementing Institutions are as shown below;
