II.4) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORKS: Student residences
and associated facilities by means of provision of site(s) and
accommodation within the proximity of the university or near a public
transport system facilitating a maximum commute of approximately 30
minutes. The accommodation may be new purpose-built or existing
accommodation, modified if necessary, to satisfy the university’s
requirements. The contract will include any required design and other
services necessary for its procurement and may also include options for
full operation and/or financing.
The university has an initial requirement of 1 000 student residential
units by September 2010, and up to a further 2 500 student residential
units by 2020.

It is anticipated that a contract notice will be published within the
second quarter of 2009. The university reserves the right not to accept
the lowest or any tender received and may terminate the competition or
part of the project or change the procedure and procure the project by
alternative means.
Please note: Depending on market response the content and number of lots
is subject to change.
