II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: To include (but not limited to): the unbiased calculation of
genetic evaluations for UK dairy cattle for; production traits; somatic
cell counts; lifespan; fertility; calving ease; conformation; calculation
of national economic indices (profit index, profitable lifetime index and
breed society indices); maintain and enhance databases relating to the
aforesaid; provision to and inclusion of interbull data; communication and
free accessibility of the genetic evaluations to industry; improve and
extend the genetic evaluation services (e.g. Genomic evaluations); long
term commitment to the aforesaid.

II.7) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This service is currently provided by the
AHDB (as DairyCo breeding+), who has subcontracted parts of the service to
a private entity. The AHDB is a levy funded organisation that provides
market failure services. The AHDB seeks information from suppliers of such
systems that could provide the independent and unbiased Genetic
Evaluations Service to the market, without any (or limited) AHDB
assistance. Should there be no interest from potential suppliers, the AHDB
will maintain the existing arrangement and shall seek to procure a
contract for part only of the service.
