Contract description: Provision of consultancy for detailed Engineering design and preparation of tender documents for improvement of water supply and sewerage in Arusha Municipality and water supply in Ngorongoro small townships of Loliondo and Wasso.(Phase I)
and
Construction Supervision of works for improvement of water Supply and Sewerage in Arusha Municipality and water supply in Ngorongoro small townships of Loliondo and Wasso. (Phase II)

Scope of the contract:
Phase I in Arusha Municipality
• Increase the capacity of water sources by collecting water from Malala river and improve the water quality by designing permanent conversional treatment plant.
• Improve and extend the water distribution system to increase the service coverage and reduce the water loss.
• Design of head works for Kiranyi II bore hole, Pump house and rising delivery main including.
• Improve and extend the sewerage system to increase the service coverage and compliance to hygienic and environmental standards.
• Carry out design work for new sewerage system at Njiro including treatment works to increase service coverage to 30% of Arusha Municipality.
• Design an appropriate automation system for efficient and effective operations of water and sewerage facilities including networks modelling.
• Prepare detailed designs and cost estimates of the projects,
• Propose optimal packages for contracting the works and prepare tender documents for their implementation
• Assist the tendering process up to sourcing of contractors and having them in place.


Phase I in Ngorongoro small townships of Loliondo and Wasso
• Identify bottlenecks in the existing system.
• Suggest measures needed to improve water supply and sanitation services in short term.
• Suggest measures for rectifying bottlenecks in existing Water Sources, Malfunctioning existing scheme and in uncompleted Projects.
• Draw down the investments required for entire work
• Carry out detailed assessments to improve water and sanitation situation in the town up to year 2025 to make them sustainable and commercially viable
• Carrying detailed Design
• Prepare tender document

Phase II in Arusha Municipality and Ngorongoro townships
• Mobilization of contractors
• Construction supervision
• Commissioning and final Acceptance of works.


Duration: Nine (9) months for phase I and Eighteen (18) Months for phase II
