The solicitaions is 100% Set-Aside for Alaskan 8A (W911QY-09-R-0024). The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement for the production of the Army Combat Shirt (ACS). The Government intends to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract with one (1), five (5) year ordering period. The minimum quantity will be 500,000 each with a maximum quantity of 3.5 million each. The ACS will not replace any garment currently in the US Army supply system. Instead it will supplement current Army issue. The ACS will maintain or increase the level of Fire Resistant (FR) protection while reducing weight and bulk, improving comfort and therefore increasing user acceptance. The ACS will provide increased moisture management capability over the FR Army Combat Uniform. The ACS will be compatible with all individual Soldier tactics, techniques, procedures, and individual equipment. The ACS is designed to be worn with the Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV).

The North American Industry Classification code is 315992. The size standard is 500 employees. The Request for Proposal will be posted on the Natick Contracting Centers website; www3.natick.army.mil, on or about May 30, 2009.
