REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
TENDER NO. ME – 011/2008/09/C/14

FOR

PROVISION OF CONSULTANCY SERVICE FOR ASSESSMENT OF CAPACITY BUILDING REQUIREMENTS FOR ENHANCED PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATION IN THE
RURAL WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION COMPONENT

1. This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business, under notice no.WB320-696/07 of 17th January, 2008.

2. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank and other Development Partners toward the cost of the Water Sector Development Programme (WSDP) and intend to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the consultancy services for Assessment of Capacity Building Requirements for Enhanced Private Sector Participation in the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Component of the WSDP.

3. The Ministry of Water and Irrigation now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, descriptions of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, the names and contact address of clients served, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

4. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: “Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers” dated May 2004; Revised October 2006.

5. Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 8:00 to 15:30 hours, Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except on public holidays.

6. Expressions of Interest clearly marked “Expression of Interest for Provision of Consultancy Service for Assessment of Capacity Building Requirements to Enhance Private Sector Participation in the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Component: Tender No. ME – 011/2008/09/C/14” must be delivered to the address below by Friday, April 17th, 2009.
