REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST N0 _ 03/amsi/2009

Audit of the Existing Mineral Titles Registry System (Mining Cadastre)

The Government of Cameroon has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Mineral Sector Institutional Capacity Building Project, and intends to apply a partof the funds to conduct a preliminary needs assessment of Cameroon's mining registry system/mining cadastre.

The proposed activity aims at improving institutional governance in theminerals sector, especially in the administration of mining rights,by conducting an assessment of current mineral rightsadministration,comparing it with international best practice in mining cadastre practices and identifying a number of steps tomodernize mining cadastre practices in Cameroon.

The Ministry ofIndustry, Mines and Technological Development now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing theservices. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures,descriptionof similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in theWorld Bank's Guidelines:Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers published in May 2004 and revised in October2006.

Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address belowduring office hours 08h00 to 15h00, local time.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 25 March 2009at 15h00.
