FEMA submitted its draft specifications to OASIS on December 12, 2008. The OASIS Emergency Management Technical Committee has evaluated and revised the specification. A formal 60-day public review, which is a prerequisite for approval as a ratified OASIS Standard, begins March 3, 2009 and ends May 2, 2009. Comments from non-OASIS members are collected online via the organizations archived public comment facility at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=emergency. FEMA welcomes your input to ensure that the requirements in the IPAWS CAP Profile meet the varying needs of this user community. FEMA has also encouraged practitioners and federal agencies familiar with alerts and warnings to participate in this important process. Please see attached document which provides complete details regarding public comment .
