Description: This Standing Offer Arrangement is for the provision of walking track construction/reconstruction works in QPW managed estates. This work will be on class 3, 4 and 5 walking tracks (conforming to the Australian standard AS 2156-2001) and may include, but not limited to, the following: a) Resurfacing, benching, profiling and compacting of existing tracks, including using existing or imported materials b) Removal of debris associated with landslides. This debris may include large boulders requiring mechanical removal c) Construction and repair of culverts, inverts, creek crossings, toe stones, stone walls and steps (pre-caste concrete treads) d) Bank stabilisation and stone pitching (including within solid rock) e) Working in remote locations over 10km from the closest vehicle entry point and walk in access only f) The construction of new walking tracks (or sections) with limited access for machinery. It is anticipated that the initial round of works will be in Lamington National Park on up to 12 walking tracks in Binna Burra and Green Mountain sections (see Map 1). These works will commence in May 2009 and be completed by June 2010.

Offerors must demonstrate that they have the proven capacity and experience to undertake the work specified in this Request for Offer. Specific points to be addressed in the Offeror s response include: a) Proven experience in the successful construction and repair of 3, 4 & 5 walking tracks (conforming to the Australian standard AS 2156-2001) in a range of situations including protected areas b) Ability to complete construction activities in remote locations. This may include bush camping with limited facilities and walking long distances. c) Demonstrated ability to work (consult, liaise etc) with government organisations as a contractor to meet project objectives. d) Awareness of cultural heritage and ability to identify cultural relicts e) demonstrated ability to complete works programs in accordance with relevant WH&S Legislation f) Knowledge of natural and cultural resource management g) Provisions for replacement of key personnel Offerors must provide full details of their experience and capability to provide the services specified and list any relevant experience to the Scope of Works.
