NASA/GSFC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for Constructionof a Shipping and Receiving Facility. This requirement is for the construction of a Shipping and Receiving Facility to belocated at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Construction of thefacility will be accomplished in three phases: (i) an approximately 25,500 gross squarefoot building; (ii) a pre-engineered single-story building with clear ceiling height ofapproximately 45 feet and a floor area of 35,000 gross square feet; and (iii) anintermediate floor installed inside the phase II structure with a clear ceiling of 18feet for both, and a floor area of 35,000 gross square feet. Associated work includesaugercast pile foundations, new and upgraded roadways, loading docks, parking, trafficsignalization, security fencing, site lighting, new and upgraded utilities, erosion andsediment control, stormwater management, and landscaping. The estimated construction cost is more than $10 million. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites forthe release of any solicitation or synopsis. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; averageannual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they arelarge, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years inbusiness; affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potentialteaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potentialprime); bonding capacity (per contract and aggregate); and list of customers covering thepast five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type,dollar value of each procurement, and point of contact - address and phone number). This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemedfully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based onresponses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to Randy Belew no later than March 24,2009. This modificationis a request for information in the form of a high-level construction cost validation.For additional details, see the attachments to this RFI.We are currently in the market research phase of this procurement, therefore nosolicitation exists.
