Financing: P115686

Abstract: GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
Sector: Agriculture/Rural Development
Credit Number: Credit No. 45470 AM

________________________________________
The Republic of Armenia is expected to receive a Credit (Additional Financing) from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of SDR 1.3 million (USD 2.0 million equivalent) toward the cost of implementing the Rural Enterprise and Small-Scale Commercial Agriculture Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.
The Additional Financing will support the following component ongoing under the original Project:
Component C – Community-Focused Economic Development. The objective is to stimulate economic development at the community level in selected rural areas through increased capacity of the communities to plan and manage their resources, and prioritize, fund and maintain key infrastructure investments with clear market linkages.
The Additional Financing will enhance the project’s impact and development effectiveness by increasing the total number of communities benefiting from project activities under the Community-Focused Economic Development (CED) component. It will generate additional employment, improve incomes and increase access to services for a wider segment of Armenia’s rural population than under the original project.
The project will include procurement of goods, works and services according to the procurement arrangements set forth in the Credit Agreement and Operational Manual of the original Project.
Procurement will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits published in May 2004 and Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers published in May 2004 and revised in October 2006, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
Specific procurement notice for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and in Hayastani Hanrapetutyun local newspaper.
Interested eligible bidders, who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive invitations to bid under ICB procedures, or those requiring additional information, should contact the address below.
