REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI)

FOR PROVISION OF CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DETAILED DESIGN, PREPARATION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS AND SUPERVISION OF CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF WATER SUPPLY SERVICES AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM IN MUSOMA MUNICIPALITY AND WATER SUPPLY SERVICES IN MUGUMU, TARIME AND BUNDA TOWNSHIPS

1. This request for expressions of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business, under notice N. WB320-696/07 of 17th January, 2007.

2. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank and other development Partners toward the cost of the Water Sector Development Programme (WSDP) and intend to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the consultancy services for Detailed Design and Preparation of Tender Documents and Supervision of Construction Works for Improvement of Water Supply Services and Sewerage System in Musoma Municipality and Water Supply Services in Mugumu, Tarime and Bunda Townships.

3. The Musoma Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (MUWASA) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to performing the services (brochures, descriptions of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, the names and contact address of clients served, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

4. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: “Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers” dated May 2004; Revised October 2006.

5. Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 8:00 to 15:30 hours Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except on public holidays.

6. Expressions of Interest clearly marked “Expression of Interest for the Provision of Consultancy Services for Detailed Design, Preparation of Tender Documents and Supervision of Construction Works for Improvement of Water Supply Services and Sewerage System in Musoma Municipality; and Water Supply Services in Mugumu Tarime and Bunda Townships: Tender No. MUWASA (WSDP)/2008/2009/01 must be delivered to the address below by Monday 2nd March, 2009.
