II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Home invites
expressions of interest in 'all or a combination of' the following
insurance lots stated hereafter;
Lot i) Death In Service Benefits.
Lot ii) Income Protection Scheme.
Lot iii) Private Medical.
Which may or may not include brokerage services.
Each tendered Lot will run for 2 years (24 months) from the commencment
date with the option to extend the contract by a further 24 months at the
end of the initial agreement based on satisfactory performance of the
appointed Broker and/or Insurer.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: Home has a turnover in excess of 230 000
000 GBP, manages 52 000 homes throughout England and Scotland and provides
care and support services to more than 14 000 people across the UK each
year. Our 4 000 employees are situated in 1 000 (approx.) office
locations.
Home invites expressions of interest in 'all or a combination of' the
following insurance lots stated hereafter;
Lot i) Death In Service Benefits.
Lot ii) Income Protection Scheme.
Lot iii) Medical Polcies.
Which may or may not include brokerage services.
Each tendered Lot will run for 2 years (24 months) from the commencment
date with the option to extend the contract by a further 24 months at the
end of the initial agreement based on satisfactory performance on the
successful Broker and/or Insurer.
Further specification details will be made available in the PQQ document.
II.2.2) Options: Yes.
Description of these options: 2 year contract extension at the end of the
initial 24 month period. Contract extension/renewal will be dependant on
the satisfactory performance of appointed parties during the initial 24
months of the contract

SECTION III: LEGAL, ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
III.1) CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE CONTRACT
III.1.2) Main financing conditions and payment arrangements and/or
reference to the relevant provisions regulating them: Insurance carriers
will be required to demonstrate a high degree of financial security and be
willing to submit their last 3 years annual reports and accounts.
III.1.4) Other particular conditions to which the performance of the
contract is subject: Yes.
This service will be regulated by the provisions of the Insurance
Companies Act 1982 and any other modifications thereof. Suppliers of
insurance services will be required to be authorised by the Financial
Services Authority (FSA) or equivalent.
III.2) CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

Justification for the choice of accelerated procedure: The contracting
authority requires the policies to be awarded by March 2009 to ensure
essential insurance coverage is in place.

Shortlisting conducted in accordance with criteria stated within the PQQ
document.
