1. Publication reference: EuropeAid/127922/D/SER/Multi.

4. Financing: 9 ACP RPR 169 — capacity support for sustainable management
of energy resources in the Pacific region.
5. Contracting authority: Regional Authorising Officer, Pacific Islands
Forum Secretariat, Ratu Sukuna Road, Suva, Fiji.
6. Nature of contract: Fee-based.
7. Contract description: The contract foresees institutional support
services to the responsible utilities in order to help them gain improved
understanding and technical competence in renewable energy, in particular
regarding the integration with existing power systems. Also, a better
understanding should be gained with regards to the advantage and problems
of integrating a renewable energy component in their services as well as
the supply of their services to remote and to poorer areas. Action and
investment plans for renewable energy in the Pacific island utility
context will have been developed.
8. Indicative budget: EUR 400 000.
