5. Contracting authority: Ministère du plan et de l'aménagement du
territoire, ordonnateur du FED en République du Congo, Brazzaville,
Republic of the Congo.
The Ministry of Trade, Consumer Affairs and Supplies (Ministère du
commerce, de la consommation et des approvisionnements) will be
responsible for project management.
6. Type of contract: Unit-price contract.
7. Contract description: 2 technical assistants to accompany Republic of
the Congo authorities for an estimated period of 36 months in the
implementation of:
— support for defining and implementing a trade strategy and policy, along
with sector-based policies aiming at economic diversification,
— support for improvement of the business climate.
The contract includes the cost of long-term technical assistance for
studies, training and short-term ad hoc expert services.
8. Maximum indicative budget: EUR 2 750 000.
9. Scheduled date for publication of the contract notice: 10.2.2009.
10. Legal basis: ACP-EC Cotonou Agreement signed on 23.6.2000, as amended
on 25.6.2005.
Decision No 2/2002 of the ACP-EC Council of Ministers published in OJ L
320 of 23.11.2002.

At least 30 calendar days must elapse between publication of this contract
forecast and publication of the contract notice.
