SECTION II.B: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT (SUPPLIES OR SERVICES)
II.1) TITLE ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONTRACT BY THE CONTRACTING AUTHORITY:
UK-Chichester: telecare service for West Sussex.
II.2) TYPE OF CONTRACT AND PLACE OF DELIVERY OR OF PERFORMANCE: Services.
Main place of performance or of delivery: West Sussex The service will be
delivered to residents of West Sussex.
II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: This contract if for the installation, maintenance and
monitoring of telecare in West Sussex. West Sussex County Council and the
West Sussex Primary Care Trust are pooling resources to provide packages
of telecare to help prevent admission into acute hospitals and discharge
from acute hospitals. This service will cover the whole county of West
Sussex and link into the current community alarms services. Provision of
services to the community. Other community, social and personal services.
Installation of telecommunications equipment. Installation services of
communications equipment.
Estimated cost excluding VAT: 500 000 GBP.

SECTION VI: COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATION
VI.1) CONTRACT RELATED TO A PROJECT AND/OR PROGRAMME FINANCED BY
COMMUNITY FUNDS: No.
VI.2) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This notice is being placed for information
purposes only and should not be considered as part of the procurement
process. The procurement process will commence once the official notice
has been placed. The contract will be for a period of 3 years with the
provision to extend for a further 2 to a maximum of 5 years subject to
performance.
A separate contract notice will be published to cover this requirement.
All service providers should respond to the published contract notice,
even if they have responded to this PIN Notice.
Contractors will be expected to deliver services which demonstrate a best
value approach as required by the Government. Public Liability and
Employers Liability insurance of 10 000 000 GBP will be required and
Professional Indemnity Insurance may be required appropriate to the
contract.
West Sussex County Council is a public authority within the meaning of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 and all correspondence received will be
dealt with in accordance with the Act.
