THIS IS A FULL AND OPEN ACQUISITION. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, tools, parts, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary to complete the rehabilitation of the log barn, to include staining of new and repaired log surfaces, demolition of existing wood shake roofing, installation of new shingle roofing, repair or replacement and repainting ofdamaged windows and doors, and installation of stair railings. The project is located at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 45 miles east of Lima, Montana. All work shall be done in strict accordance with the enclosed plans and specifications. The period of performance is 105 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. It is anticipated that the Notice to Proceed will be issued on or about May 15, 2008. Prior to work on this contract the Government will make repairs to the log structure as soon as weather permits in Spring 2009. Log repair work is estimated to require 6 weeks for completion. Work of this contract may begin immediately thereafter. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITE Prospective bidders may inspect the sites by contacting the Refuge Manager at Red Rock Lakes NWR, phone (406) 276-3536. Site visits are encouraged. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. The total performance is 105 days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is open to both large and small businesses. The NAICS code 236220, Farm Building Construction, and small business size standard is $31 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to be available electronically on/or about December 4, 2008 with an anticipated closing date of January 4, 2008.
