DescriptionThe Australian Government Protective Security Manual (PSM) 2005 requires Australian Government agencies to ensure that all staff and others who have access to official information at 'PROTECTED' level or higher, hold a Government Security Clearance. Whilst the Tax Office undertakes the majority of this Security Clearance work 'In-House' there is a need to have a 'contingency' vetting service provider available to help deal with peaks periods. There also remains a need for the clearances for the 'in-house' Security Vetting Team (SVT) staff to be conducted by an independent third party. To ensure that the Tax Office can adequately address the above mentioned needs the Tax Office proposes to engage a contractor who is able to provide Security Clearance assessments.
