6. Contract description: Supply of automated traffic counters at
predetermined sites in Malawi. The supply of road condition field testing
equipment, drilling rig and accessories, materials laboratory equipment,
and supply, installation and testing of computers and office equipment to
the office locations of several beneficiaries in Lilongwe.
7. Indicative number and titles of lots: Lot 1 — Supply and installation
of automated traffic counters (permanent and temporary stations).
Lot 2 — Supply of road condition field testing equipment. Including
hand-held GPS units, vehicle odometer, measuring wheel, rut measuring
straight edge and calibrated wedge, and GIS licensed software.
Lot 3 — Supply of drilling rig and accessories. Including mobile
percussive drilling rig, percussive drilling casings, SPT hammers, SPT
spoons, SPT steel rods and water level indicators.
Lot 4 — Supply of materials laboratory equipment. Including CBR sets and
accessories, bitumen reflux extraction apparatus, binder recovery
apparatus, and numerous accessories and laboratory items.
Lot 5 — Supply installation and testing of computers and office equipment.
Including desktops and UPS, laptops, fax/scanner/printer/copier, laser
printers, LCD projector, photocopier, flash disks and network accessories.
8. Intended timing of publication: November 2008.

10. Legal basis: ACP–EC Partnership Agreement signed at Cotonou on
23.6.2000 as amended on 25.6.2005. Decision No 2/2002 of the ACP–EC
Council of Ministers published in OJ L 320 of 23.11.2002.
